I've got some exciting news!

I'm on TV!!

Here is how it all started.

I started a new job as a part-time trainer at Anytime Fitness, just to continue to train individuals in a gym setting and still have time to work on my business. It's been so much fun getting to know new people and continuing to help individuals of all ages in their health and fitness journey.

One day I was asked by a member at the gym if he could talk to me about training. So I brought him into my office thinking he wanted to see what personal training was all about. To my surprise he asked if I would like to be in a segment on the news. My heart kind of sank and I got very nervous at that moment but something about it got me excited at the same time. I honestly thought it was just going to be a 1 time thing so I said yes. I was nervous but knew it was something I needed to do to get out of my comfort zone. After I realized this would be something I would be working on weekly I got even more nervous but very excited as it could help get my name out more in the community.

We then set up a time to take the first recording which was 3 days after I was asked about this opportunity. I took those 3 days to prepare, trying to figure out a outfit, how to talk in front of the camera with people watching me, how to make it look like I've done this before, and trying to calm my nerves. I have made programs for my clients where I recorded myself doing follow along workouts so that was not new to me, but this was different and much more professional then I was used to.

Those 3 nights I did not sleep much. I was thinking about a script for what to say about the exercise and I wanted to make sure I didn't miss any important elements for the video.

When the day came to recored I was up early and ready to go. I got to the gym where we are recording each of the videos early and practiced even more. That's when the nervous sweats got me. The photographers were very supportive and helped me feel at ease with this process.

After the first recording of this series I felt more comfortable with it. It was so much fun to create! I was excited for this challenge and opportunity to expand my knowledge and get myself out there teaching and helping others in this process of exercise and movement.

If you would have asked me 3 years ago if I would be on TV I would have said no in a heart beat but this was different. When this opportunity arose, it felt right to jump in. I am so happy I took the leap and it has lead me to some amazing people I've met through WDIO.

You can watch this news series called "The Process" now on the local Duluth tv news station called "The Lift" on WDIO channel 10. My segment airs every Thursdays at 4:30 P.M. or Friday mornings on GMN.

Each week I record a new video explaining the benefits and how to do specific exercises. If there is a certain exercise you would like me to touch on in the videos let me know a I can see what I can do to incorporate it into our videos each week. I love hearing your ideas and I am doing this to help you so please reach out with new ideas.

Being on camera is definitely out of my comfort zone and creating content for viewers at home to see and understand. But I hope you all enjoy this new series as much as I am.

Each week I will post a more in depth blog post here on my website for anyone that may have missed the live air on the news or if you want to know more about that exercise.

You can also stay up to date on the WIDO website by clicking here or I will also have the links to each video on each of my blog posts.

I am excited to see what you all think of this new journey for myself and my business.

I also want to thank James Faynik, the photojournalist making this all happen and asking me to be a part of it.
