Have you struggled with understanding what you can and can't do with exercise after having a baby? Have you struggled with diastasis recti/the separation of the abdominal wall after having a baby?

Keep reading, I can help you.

First here is a little overview of what postpartum means. Postpartum is the 4th trimester of pregnancy. The phase after the birth of a child. Postpartum is the entire time after baby. No matter that being right after having a baby or 50 years after, that is still considered postpartum.

Think about this. After you have a baby your body goes through a lot. Even 10 years after having a baby your body still needs strength and stabilization to keep your body strong.

Most women will experience diastasis recti or a separation of the abdominal wall after pregnancy. That is common. There are so many amazing exercises out there to help with this issue but they need to be taught and used correctly to help strengthen those muscles back up properly. This is why I created my Pelvic Floor and Core Program (found here) to help women minimize this from happening and to help recorrect and heal the issue after baby as well. It is never too late to heal diastais recti and it is never too early to prepare your body for the changes throughout pregnancy or postpartum phases. Our bodies are always changing and learning strength and stabilization techniques are key in helping your body move through life.

Benefits of exercise for postpartum women:

  • Reduces recovery time after baby

  • Recorrect/heal diastasis recti

  • Improve energy for daily tasks

  • Keeping your body strong and stabilized to care for the baby

  • Reduces risk of pelvic organ prolapse

  • Improves posture

  • Decreases depression

  • Improves mood

  • Reduces stress

  • Lower risk of injury and back pain
