Hello everyone,

Meet Melanie Maldonado, she is a registered dietitian and a wonderful friend of mine. We are collaborating to bring you the best pairing duo of fitness and nutrition. Here is a little message from Melanie so you can get to know her better.


Fitness and nutrition go together like peanut butter and jelly, or like one of my favorite pairings, rice and beans.

My name is Melanie and I am a Registered Dietitian. I believe food is so important for our health, how we feel, and for our happiness. A little about me - after college I moved abroad for a year and while living with a host family my diet changed drastically (for the better) and within weeks I had chronic health issues resolve and I had more energy. When I moved back to the US I immediately started my education to become a dietitian. Now that I am a Registered Dietitian, I have helped many patients and clients do the same - improve their lives through good nutrition.

I am very passionate about the impact that healthy eating can have on our health and I also believe that cooking and eating should be fun! I give practical recommendations that fit your lifestyle, budget, and health goals. As a busy mom of two little kids I know how important realistic changes are. I specialize in general healthy eating, help losing weight, help gaining weight, and nutrition-related health concerns such as high blood pressure + heart health, pre-diabetes, food allergies and intolerances, GI disorders, PCOS, wound and pre/post surgery healing, and pregnancy/postpartum nutrition. I also specialize in pediatric growth and nutrition concerns such as "picky" or "selective" eating. I also have experience in enteral (tube) feeding, including home-blended formula.

During our first session I want you to feel comfortable and share your medical history, favorite foods, eating patterns, lifestyle, hobbies. I know that talking about these things can be difficult sometimes and I want to assure you there will be no judgement from me. I will identify areas to focus on and provide evidence-based education and advice. We will collaborate on goal-setting and make a plan to help you achieve your health/wellness goals. I enjoy cooking and recipe development so you will probably leave our session with some good meal ideas and recipes as well!
